Welcome to the 2025-2026 Ringette Season!

We’re thrilled to welcome new and returning athletes to another exciting season on the ice! Please review the following important updates regarding registration, team formation, and policies. Early Bird Pricing

Register early and save!

Early Bird pricing ends July 11th. After this date, all registration fees will increase by $50, so be sure to complete your registration on time.

Payment Information

We know summer is a busy time, so payment is not due until September 1st, 2025.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be rolling out a credit card instalment option to make payments even easier — stay tuned for details!

Alternatively, payments can be made in full via e-transfer to treasurer@hamiltonringette.ca.

Team Formations

Our goal is to inform families as early as possible about team availability. We aim to confirm team roster sizes and formations by August 1st.

We will work closely with our neighbouring Associations (Paris, Burlington, St. Catharines, Caledonia) to place athletes if we’re unable to host a team in their age division or to encourage athletes from those areas to join our Hamilton teams when possible.

Player Release Requests

We’ve updated our Player Release Policy to clarify the process:

• Releases will be automatically granted if Hamilton is not offering a team at your athlete’s age level.
  
  
• Releases will not be granted if a team is available in Hamilton for your age group. Please review the full Player Release Policy on our website, note that there is no need to submit a release request if your level of play is offered by HRA.
  
  

Registration Fees and Budget

You’ll notice an increase in this year’s registration fees. This is due to rising costs from:

• Ringette Ontario (RO) and insurance
  City of Hamilton ice time
• Referee Fees
• General operating expenses
  
  

Despite these increases, registration fees still do not cover the full cost of running our programs — they currently account for only 70% of our actual seasonal expenses. The shortfall is typically covered through sponsorship and fundraising, which has been limited in recent years.

What’s Included in My Registration?

Registration covers a full season from September to April, including:

• One practice per week
• One home or away game per week
• Referee fees
• Jersey lending
• Insurance
• Entry to the year-end Regional Championships (covered by the association)
  
  

What’s Not Included?

Some costs are handled at the team level, including:

• Tournament registrations (typically 1-3 per season)
• Team-specific fundraising
• Events, team swag, and extras
  
  

These expenses are organized by each team’s manager and may vary.
 

Goalies

Hamilton Ringette Association offers goalies a 50% refund at the end of the season, provided they have participated in at least 50% of games. Refunds will be issued or applied as a credit.

Family Volunteer Expectations

Hamilton Ringette Association is 100% volunteer run, and we rely on families to keep our programs strong. We ask that each family contribute in meaningful ways, such as:

• Bench support (trainers, coaches, managers)
• Game-day roles (shot clock, timekeeper)
• Fundraising and event support
• Tournament volunteer roles
• Helping with sponsorship outreach or snack bar operations
