U16A 2024 - Ringette Tryouts

Hamilton Ringette Association with Burlington Ringette Association is pleased to announce to be hosting tryouts for U16A for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. Once tryouts have been concluded and the team is declared, the subsequent Hamilton/Burlington team will be out of Inch Park Arena at 400 Queensdale Ave, Hamilton.

All players must be registered with in RAMP for insurance purposes; see link below.

HOW TO REGISTER:

1. Please read the Equal Access for Participation part of Ringette Ontario's team formation guideline refers to the gender make-up of a team providing information and some FAQs. You will be asked to confirm you have read the material and your willingness to play on female-only, mixed, or male-only teams during the tryout registration process.

2. Please note that OVERAGE players cannot be rostered on A teams.

3. Please register at http://hamiltonringette.rampregistrations.com/ for EACH player you are registering.

4. Southern Region Provincial Expectations Forms needt o be completed and signed by the player and the parent/Guardian prior to stepping on first tryout ice for all Associations. These forms can be emailed to president@hamiltonringette.ca or a hard copy can be handed in before tryouts.

TRYOUT COSTS:

Cost is $60 ($20 per session) which guarantees three tryout sessions. A fourth session a possible exhibition game after the three sessions will be by invitation only. The fourth, to be determined, after the second tryout. Once invited, players will pay an additional $20 tryout fee. Payments are made in cash at the tryout location (see below chart for dates and location of tryouts).

RELEASES

No player needs a release to try out for any team. A release is required in order to accept a spot on a team outside of one's home association. HRA home association players will not be released to play outside the association except in the following circumstances:

1. The player is offered a spot on a level of team that HRA is not offering (e.g. U16A)

2. The player is offered a spot on a team that HRA is offering, but HRA will not be offering the player a spot (e.g. a player is "cut")

Tryouts can be a stressful time for players, coaches, and volunteers. Please be kind and respectful when communicating either in person or via email. Associations have tryouts at separate times, there may be some waiting required for releases.

NOTE: No player will be released outside the association for a team HRA offers unless that player has also attended HRA tryouts.
